What We Do

1st Choice Pets is an internet based pet superstore specialising in the on-line retailing of bird cages and accessories, as well as many items for other domestic pets. 1st Choice Pets as a company, prides itself on the level of service every customer receives. We are always adding to our product portfolio, but only offer for sale products that encompass all the basic elements of what is important to us as a retailer and more importantly, to you as a customer. These elements are the quality of the product, the price of the product, and finally how we can incorporate our high expectation of customer service through retailing the product to you, our customer.

Who We Are

1st Choice Pets are a company with a committed team of staff who firmly believe in the values of a traditional family business. We are based in the South Midlands, and enjoy a very good geographical position in terms of supply and distribution through the national road networks. 1st Choice Pets. was created by Matthew Golby whose background is garden centre based retailing. He has benefited from years of experience with the ‘family firm’ that has existed since 1923. A large pet store has been present at the garden centre for over 20 years.

What We Believe

1st Choice Pets believes that whilst we live in a world of 24 hour technology and instant information, the three traditional elements of product quality, price and service are as important as ever. We set ourselves high standards and in turn expect high standards from our own suppliers.

Our History

1st Choice Pets was developed from an idea by Matthew Golby, who owns a large garden centre based pet store in the South Midlands. It is felt by Matthew that 1st Choice Pets is a natural ‘next step’ in an ever competitive world of business. It is also a way of appealing to and reaching a larger base of customers. Many years of experience and knowledge has been gained in sourcing the right type of products. This, coupled with our enthusiasm at 1st Choice Pets for conducting our business as well as we possibly can, and the opportunity the internet offers all business’s lead to the creation of 1st Choice Pets.

Our Commitment 

1st Choice Pets will not accept second best. From running our own business over the years we have experienced many disappointments at the hands of some of our own suppliers. We know that as a customer, a second rate service is not acceptable. As a company ourselves, trying to attract your business, the same applies. Therefore we wholeheartedly commit to offering you our customer, the very best we can in all aspects of the service you receive when using 1st Choice Pets.
